The Marine Heavy Weapons Specialist is in charge of maintaining, using, and deploying weapons effectively and efficiently. They are to be knowledgeable in the handeling, use, and deployment of all the Phaser and Ballistic weapons, as well as the M4 Rocket Propelled Grenade (RPG), M16 ADAR Active homing Disposable Anti-tank Rocket, G72 Long Lance Infantry Self-defense Weapon.

Heavy Weapons Specialist are trained in tactics, anti-armor utilization, functions of all Federation and foreign weapons, light weapons, indirect fire operations, man-portable air defense weapons, weapons emplacement, and integrated combined arms fire control planning. Some of the dutys of the Heavy Weapons Specialist includes assigning targets and areas of fire, carrying out demolition raids against enemy military targets, employs warfare tactics and techniques in infantry operations, conducts offensive raids or invasions of enemy terriories, maintains proficiancy with all foreign high-density light and heavy weapons, selects weapons placements and sites, and reads, interprets and prepares combat orders.

The Marine Heavy Weapons Specialist are enlisted personnel and are under the command of the Marine First Sergeant or the Squad Leader that he/she is attached to.
