Zeon (species)

The Zeon are a humanoid species inhabiting the liked-named Zeon planet in the M43 Alpha star system. They are outwardly similar to Humans.

By the mid-23rd century, Zeon had been living in peace for many generations, and had developed the beginnings of interplanetary spaceflight. Noticing the state of anarchy among the warlike, pre-spaceflight Ekosians, many Zeons came to Ekos in an effort to help their neighbors learn peaceful ways. Sometime after 2218, a Zeon colony was established on Ekos.

Following the cultural contamination of Ekos by historian John Gill in the 2260s, the Zeon became persecuted and hunted. The Ekosians had adopted a regime similar to that of Nazi Germany during the middle 20th Century, and blamed all of its troubles on the Zeon. In fact, they were preparing a nuclear attack on the Zeon homeworld by 2268. This was prevented by the USS Enterprise. Afterwards, both sides agreed to work together for the future.
