The Starfleet Marine Corps (SFMC) organizes their Light Infantry forces using the formations and units described below. Light Infantry comprises the majority of units used in the Obsidian Fleet shipborne detachments. SFMC Aerospace is organized in the same manner as Starfleet Aerospace.

While the SFMC does have regiments containing Mechanized (or Heavy) Infantry there are currently no Mechanized units assigned to Obsidian Fleet as part of shipborne detachments.

While the definitions below are considered 'standard textbook' they are not carved in stone. Detachment commanders can organize their personnel in whatever manner works best for their mission inorder to make best use of skills and equipment. A squad that is constantly losing personnel to other duties should probably be reorganized.
