The V5 type shuttle is the standard carried by the Klingon military. Well-armed and fast, the V5 is a compromise between a much-needed new shuttlecraft and an even more-wanted fighter. To get that compromise, the designers sacrificed better shielding and more sensor equipment. Still, it remains one of the most dangerous auxiliary crafts around and saw extensive service in the Dominion War.

The V5 is also capable of mounting bolt on torpedo systems on a pair of side mounted sponsons. This shuttle is designed to be capable of performing as a fighter bomber if needed.
