As the name implies, the Tri-Planetary Academy is an accredited university with colleges spread around three Federation planets. It is famous for allowing instructors from other non-aligned races, such as Romulans and Ferengi, to come teach at various times.
- Aldebaran III is home to the College of Medicine and the School of Land Management;
- Benecia is home to the Institute of the Arts and the College of Behavior Sciences, and;
- Algol is the home to the College of Astro-Sciences and the Kl'nupi School of Business.
