Driaan System
The Driaan system composes of 8 planetary bodies, each with several moons. However the majority bar a single world is generally habitable. Generally, due to the fact that each world be it a giant rock or gas giant were rich in resources hence habitats were constructed either in orbit or on the surface for mining purposes.
The colony quickly grew as demand for its resources grew, quickly turning a constant profit margin. However these were the seeds for the gradual corruption of the Driaan government. Eventually crime was system wide.
Driaan V
The only Class M planet in the Driaan System, Driaan V was settled by both Orions and Humans in the late 23rd system near the Romulan / Federation / Klingon neutral zones as an independent self-governing colony.
However in 2361 the Orion Syndicate seized control of the government by through their own means had built a monopoly with the businesses and corporate owners in driaan. The government was alone against the most powerful crime organization in the Alpha and Beta Quadrants and quickly faltered.
As the Driaan system was situated near both edges of the Romulan and Klingon Neutral Zones and its many mining operations driaan naturally attracted a lot of trade and of course that included more crime to be done and to deal with. Especially when the federation would occasionally get involved in matters, complicating things.
The range of Orion Syndicate activity then increased into all factors.

- Murder in all degrees
- Vessel theft
- Illegal drugs & arms trade / smuggling
- Increasing rigged gambling in syndicate casinos
- Gang warfare
- Pirates attacking the already sold gas trade lanes.
The list goes on…a very active small system. Unknown by most but to the criminal world known to most.
Driaan Locations
- Driaan V Spaceport - Space Station that is literally a casino and pirate haven
- Driaan III Gas Mines - A unique but dangerous mining station built within the clouds of a gas giant. Workers are often in a volatile workplace with unstable elements and a gassy atmosphere despite life-support systems.
