The mainstay of the [[Cardassian]] fleet, the ''Galor'' is a capable warship of a size not dissimilar to [[Starfleet]]'s [[Norway class|Norway]] and [[Intrepid class]]es. While not as powerful as the latest generation of [[starship]]s entering service in the [[United Federation of Planets]], [[Klingon Empire]] or [[Romulan Star Empire]], the ''Galor'' is heavily armed with at least one deadly [[phaser technology|phaser]] bank and multiple [[disrupter]]s that are more than able to descimate smaller vessels. Moreover, the chief advantage enjoyed by the ''Galor'' class is that it exists in such huge numbers. Literally hundreds can be built every year thanks to their straightforward designs and simple - some would say rudimentary - construction requirements.<br />
