They are similar to [[Human]]s, except they are bigger in size on average. When first encountered by the Federation in 2254, they still used spears, swords, and rudimentary armor. For centuries, the Kaylar had defeated every attempt by other species to colonize their planet. It wasn&#039;t until the [[Rigellian]]s settled in the late 23rd Century that they allowed an association to form.
