<p><b>New page</b></p><div>'''Talar''' is a [[Class M]] world that orbits a F-class white star roughly near the center of space claimed by the [[Talarian]] Republic in the [[Alpha Quadrant]]. It is the governmental, scientific, and cultural center of the Talarian people. Not much scientific data is available on the planet, mostly due to the Talarian's xenophobic ways keeping outsiders off-world. The only [[Federation]] presences allowed have been diplomats and the occassional prisoner from the various "flash conflicts" between the two powers. What is known is that Talar is roughly the size of [[Betazed]] with a typical terran atmosphere. It has vast rolling plains, jagged mountain peaks, and extensive jungle coverage. Two moons orbit the planet nearly opposite one another.<br />

Of interest is the planet's massive magnosphere radiation belt, nearly a third denser than [[Earth]]'s Van Allen belt. Scientists conclude that this protection not only has kept the planet safe from their sun's radiation but has also contributed to the Talarian's sensitivity to radiation in general.<br />
