The Fighter Pilot Element Leader is the Tactical leader of a pair of fighters. An Element is the smallest unit used by fighters. Only on rare or desperate times will a fighter be used as a lone craft.

The Fighter Pilot Element Leader reports directly to the Flight Leader. If the Fighter Pilot Element Leader is a marine they report to the Marine Flight leader
