Edosian

Edosians are a tripedal species hailing from the planet Edos. They have three arms with three fingers on each hand, and three legs with three toes on each foot. (The Animated Series: "Albatross")

They are hairless and retain body heat through special oils secreted by their orangish skin. Edosians also have an ape-like head on a long, slender neck. Their tripedal characteristics are believed to be an adaptation of their mountainous world, as they are excellent climbers. They also have yellow eyes giving them the ability to see in the dark. Edosians can also tolerate lower atmospheric pressures better than humaniod species. They are recognized throughout the galaxy as the leading authority on weather-control technology. Edos joined the United Federation of Planets in 2194.
