Type 9 Disrupter

The Type 9 Disrupter cannon is the most advanced type of disrupter cannon currently in service with the Klingon Defence Force. The Type 9, is currently the mainstay of Klingon combat vessels and as such packs a major punch, comparative with that of a Federation Type X Phaser or a Cardassian System 4 Disrupter. The Disrupter is unusual in that it trades firepower for rate of fire, meaning that comparative with other Klingon weapons it fires relatively slowly, to counter this it is often combined with a Type 8 Disrupter to balance this out.
