Eminian Union

The Eminian Union is the name of the unified continents of the Eminian people. For a millenia, the Union itself was governed by a High Council, with members representing each continent of Eminiar VII. The Council itself is headed by the First Councilor. By the time the USS Enterprise visited in 2267, the Union was an advanced culture. It had the ability of warp-capable spaceflight, but had not used it since the colonization efforts of the 17th Century. Instead, the Union's primary occupation was waging war against it's former colony of Vendikar---a war that had lasted for 500 years and cost 3 million lives annually. (The Original Series: "A Taste of Armageddon")

Capt. James Kirk convinced the High Council to stop the war in 2267, and a year later Vendikar was admitted into the Union. They were given equal representation on the High Council.

Although non-aligned, the Eminians maintain full diplomatic contact with both the Federation and the Klingon Empire.
