The Cardassian Hideki class Patrol Vessel is an odd mix of a runabout and an escort, which serves to patrol the borders of the Union, run interdiction operations and to ferry VIP's and cargoes. As such, it comes in three primary variants, all of which have differing internals layouts and weapons loadouts. These three Hideki class vessel variants, the Hideki (Patrol vessel), Foreki (Interdiction) and Mikemi (VIP/Cargo Courier) are used widely by the Cardassian Union and most Orders as well as Militia elements will have a number of Hideki variants, making it the Unions most common vessel.

In combat wings of Hideki class vessels will often combine to engage larger vessels, in formations of up to 27 Hideki's, which prove highly dangerous to most Federation vessels, even the most potent combat vessels such as the Sovereign class, especially if operating without support.
