It was during this time that she would develop her love of the outdoors and took up the various sports she now enjoys. As with many teenagers, she also spent her time enjoying the typical activities teenage girls enjoy.Choosing not to go into Diplomacy as her father had done but rather into the Sciences, Anika entered a civilian university in one of the general sciences programs available. After her first two years, Anika chose to shift from the general sciences into the medical program. She took up a specialty in Inter-Species medicine which facinated her. Following her graduation, and seeing the relative lack of job prospects in the civilian field, Anika decided to enroll in a Starfleet transitioning program. Taking an extra year, Anika crash learned how the fleet runs and how she fit into the whole picture.After finishing up her transitioning program, Anika went into a holding pattern at starfleet medical while a berth was found for her. About three months later, her orders for her first assignment were cut. The USS Aquarius, now reactivated after a six month overhaul, was in need of a Inter-Species specialist. Taking a transport out to the nearest starbase, Anika made her way to the Aquarius. | |||
