Romulan Neutral Zone

The Romulan Neutral Zone is a buffer of between one and ten light years across seperating the United Federation of Planets and the Romulan Star Empire. It was created by the treaty ending the Earth-Romulan War in the late 2150's. Entry by either side into the Zone constitutes an act of war. There have, however, been several breaches, most in the late 24th century.
