Also called ''Japanese Chess'', shogi has origins dating back to the 10th Century Far East of [[Earth]]. Several variations exist of the game, but basically it remains a two-player game of strategy.  It shares many aspects with it's Western cousin, although it is popular due to the unique "drop rule" where captured pieces can be returned to the board and used against their former players.
