Dozaria

Dozaria is a Class M planet covered by deserts and arid mountains located near the Cardassian Union and the Breen Confederacy in the Alpha Quadrant. It was the only inhabitable planet in the Dozaria System. It is one of the planets that could be visited through the Iconian Gateway on Vandros IV.

In 2366, a Cardassian prison transport Ravinok was attacked by Breen warships and forced down on Dozaria. The Breen then used the survivors as laborers in a nearby dilithium mining camp on the planet. Six years later, Major (later Colonel) Kira Nerys and Legate Dukat found the camp and infilatrated it, rescuing Dukat's daughter. (DS9: "Indiscretion")

The mines were attacked by a squadron of Federation Sabre class fast-attack ships just prior to the end of the Dominion War in 2375, severely damaging operations there. Because Dozaria lay in unclaimed space, the Orion Syndicate swooped in and took over the mines the following year. The Breen have made two half-hearted attempts at retaking the planet, but the Syndicate has proven difficult to dislodge.
