The Sy9812 system is a star system on the borders of the [[Beta Quadrant]] on the fringes of [[Federation]] territory. She contains a mining colony, named [[Station Dante]]. The [[USS Chimera]] was recently assigned to the system to provide assistance to the fledgling colony and to protect the valuable mineral deposits on the planet.

With a G-Type Yellow star at the centre, System Sy9812 is home to 15 planets but with only one [[Class M]] and one [[Class O]]. The remaining planets are either rocky (the inner planets) or super massive Gas-Giants.
