Uridium

Uridium is an unstable mineral that is prone to explode when introduced to an electric charge. However, its superior characteristics in benign atmospheres made it invaluable in equipment that used gases in a vaccum, for example. The Cardassians use uriduim extensively in their shipbuilding and mining industries, and some sensor arrays utilize it as well.
