The Jespia System is located half a days warp travel from the Loki System and is home to a small research based colony. Jespia is a F-type star with a surface temperature of approximately 7300 degrees Kelvin. Giving off an apparent White colour, it is a subgiant and produces high levels of Solar wind and radiation (similar to the Loki star). The Sun was initially classified as a G-type star and there is still ongoing debate whether initial survey team got it wrong or if Jespia underwent a rapid heating over 10 years to reach it's F-type classification. Jespia IV underwent terraforming to be habitable which was completed ahead of schedule due to the amiable atmospheric conditions already present. The system itself has a distorted heliosphere, being smaller than it should be, and solar wind is somehow "reflected" back into the system. This affect was once proposed to be an product of an unknown/undiscovered Iconian device but was later proved to be due to a resonance between micro-wormholes resident in the Sun's core and the system's asteroid field. The colony on Jespia IV was charged with a research project to investigate the system, but was attacked by the Borg in unusual circumstances in 2387, leaving the colony disbanded. The system has 7 planetary bodies with no indigenous sentient races, however local flora did exist on Jespia IV and was preserved during the terraforming process. The unique composition of the asteroid field, coupled with the resonance induced by the Sun's micro-wormholes, also produces severe to crippling sensor interference which is a grave hazard to navigation. This has given the system a reputation for being a haven for smugglers who are believed to hide within the systems asteroid field.
