Lya Station Alpha is a Federation Spacedock-class orbital docking star system defense facility, located in orbit of the ninth (and last) planet of the Trill system. It was completed in 2314, and has undergone a number of refits and modifications to keep her a front-line station. She saw plenty of action during the Dominion War; along with Starbase 375 they were strongpoints for the Federation Alliance in the Kalandra sector.
In 2368, the USS Enterprise-D traveled to Lya Station Alpha with survivors from the attack on the Solarion IV colony. During that layover, Ensign Ro Lauren reported for duty as a Flight Control Officer. (TNG: "Ensign Ro")
