Medusa

Medusa is the third planet in a binary system composed of a brilliant white star and a yellow dwarf companion called Xi Hydrae which supports eight planets total, none of which is capable of supporting carbon-based life. Only the third is inhabited, by a noncorporeal race called the Medusans and they refer to their world as Visalayan. Surveyed only by unmanned probes, Medusa is a typical Class C world, heavily blanketed by dense clouds of superheated carbon dioxide under extreme pressure. The Medusans native environment is a superheated magnetic field of about 500 degrees Centigrade. Medusa is within Federation space and is a member.
