Sirius System

The Sirius System lies approximately 8.6 light years from Earth in what is Sector 006, the same sector that is home to Andoria. The system comprises a binary star unit: the primary star being Alpha Canis Majoris (Sirius A or the "Dog Star") and the smaller dwarf star Alpha Canis Minoris (Sirius B, the "Pup Star", or Shahr to the Andorians). Nine planets are located within the system, with Sirius VII home to a large Federation science station and Sirius IX an Andorian colony.

A major trading route between the Federation and the Klingon Empire passes through the system.

The Treaty of Sirius was signed here, ending the last of the Earth-Kzin Wars in the late 21st Century.
