TR-118 Ballistic Assault Weapon

The latest incarnation of the TR series was one spurned from a Marine's love of ancient Earth History. It was realised that there was a need for a compact and high rate of fire version of the TR-116 to increase the firepower available to Marine units engaged in areas where Phasers aren't as viable. The creation was the Ballistic Assault Weapon, or BAW for short.

Taking the original TR-116 stock, the firing mechanism was modified to accommodate more regular and rapid rates of fire, the barrel was converted to be detachable and the magazine hatch modified to take a larger conventionally fed drum magazine, or a belt of the 5.56 calibre rounds fired by the TR-116. A collapsible tripod was also added and the shock absorbent material within the butt was increased, to provide greater comfort to the firer.
