She walks and like your typical Vulcan with her hands behind her back and spine straight. She is not seen smiling in public but has that Vulcan perpetually board expression. |

| General Overview | Seleya is calm and quiet. She is withdrawn socially and prefers to spend time alone when off duty. She is short and to the fact and often thought of as cold on the outside. On the inside she lives a rich and complex emotional life. She constantly battles with the sometimes agonizing effects of Saktor-nosh syndrome both mentally an physically. She tends to meditate often and relives stress swimming on the holodeck. A side effect of SNS is that her telepathy is amped up so when she touches people she is able to absorb and read them. She is curious by nature and loves to learn having an insatiable thirst for knowledge. She doesn’t understand humor and is easily frustrated by slow movement when walking. She loves to talk about her hobbies but often times when a subject does not interest her she will disengage. In essence she is complicated and complex. |

| Personal History | Seleya was born in the Vulcan Forge region near the T’Karath Sanctuary at the foot of Mt. Seleya, where she got her name. While still young her family move to the RAAL province on the coast of the Voroth Sea. The coastal city she lived in was thriving with activities that drew many off world visitors. She was a frequent visitor to the local museums. Seleya was a solitary child. Her family was never close and her childhood was considered difficult. At the age of seen she was diagnosed with Saktor-nosh syndrome on Vulcan thought as undesirables these people were often ostracized even by their family. At the age of 14 she was sent away to Lake Yuron region where she lived in a home for those with Saktor-nosh. It was there she got care from Starfleet doctors and her savant abilities were discovered. She had the ability to absorb anything and all medical and she had a way of thinking what was quite un-Vulcan like. She excelled in her studied and was fond of history and geography and archeology, all side hobbies to medicine. She was also obsessed with miniature figures of species and races from all over the Federation and collected them. When she finished her high school equivalent with honours and at the top of her class she was sent to the Academy, a decision she made early on in her life. A goal, a dream. At the Academy Seleya declared her major early on. She knew she wanted to be a part of Starfleet Medical to honour the Earth doctor that saved her life when she was young. She thrived academically but kept to herself socially. She would best be found in the library and or museum where she could let her obsessions with all things historical take over. She loved to read being particularly fond of fiction and she could paint images that were startlingly beautiful. In fact during her second year a professor convinced her to enter a painting in a contest and she took first place. It was also during her second year that she discovered her love of Piano and the Vulcan Lute. By her third year professors saw that the work was not challenging for her and they skipped her into the four year after administering third year exams early which she passed with 98% so thus her third year was her fourth in the academy and her fourth year was first year of surgical specialization. She graduated with her class and did the final two years of surgical specialization before being assigned to her first posting. USS Sentinel In 2386 right after graduation Seleya was assigned to the Sentinel as a junior medical officer and an Ensign. She spent six years on the ship and was praised by her CMO. She was also instrumental in saving the captain’s life in 2389 and was fast tracked to be Assistant CMO. As a person she kept to herself mostly but did start to come out of her shell. The years on this ship were key to getting her past some of the harshest consequences of her childhood diagnosis of Saktor-nosh syndrome. Although she’d never be cured she learned best to adapt here. The Captain, Andrea D’Paul took specific care with her and the two often met to share their mutual love of history. In 2391 D’Paul was killed during a routine away mission and this set Seleya back. She turned into herself and her work started to suffer. To save her and pull her out of her funk her CMO had her transferred to the Bujo where she met Galatea a woman who would be mentor and friend for a long time. USS Bujo Doctor Galatea Polaris was on the Bujo for a few months teaching new medical techniques and the two became friends. They were both struck with the same condition. When Galatea left Seleya continued to thrive. Her time on the Bujo was a challenge. She doubled not only as ACMO but as the archeologist due to her vast knowledge of history. She was praised by her superiors…all but the CMO who was jealous of her knowledge and her abilities. In 2303 towards the end an incident on the Bujo left her shaken and humiliated. Her CO, never one to take cruelty, expelled the guilty parties but the damage was done. Seleya began to regress. The CO contacted Galatea who used her clout to have Seleya transferred to the USS Wolff in 2394 as her ACMO. Slowly Seleya started coming out of her shell but was never truly the same. She reverted to staunchly Vulcan around her crewmates. USS Wolff Seleya and her mentor Galatea worked side by side in perfect harmony. Seleya was content again only to have that ripped off in 2395 when a mysterious outbreak claimed the life of her friend and mentor Doctor Galatea Polaris thrusting her into the role of CMO. Seleya was devastated and once again dealt a blow from which she had to find her way back. She feared not being good enough but vowed to make her mentor and friend proud. |
