The Aldebaran Musical Academy is recognized as one of the galaxy's preeminent music programs for gifted pre-professional classical musicians and vocalists. It's scope covers the "classical" and traditional music of nearly 40 different species. The Academy prides itself on offering an experience that is at once intimate and intense, highly personalized, and deeply collaborative.

Applicants from all over the galaxy seek the opportunity to study and perform at the Academy. Between twelve and fifteen thousand applications are received every year for various programs. Only 1300 Academy Fellows are selected to enroll. During the typical 12-week course, Academy Fellows refine and enhance their skills with each other and with the outstanding faculty and guest artists who join them. Together they participate in 250 musical events, including masterclasses, chamber music, individual weekly lessons, recitals, orchestra concerts, a concerto competition, a vocal competition, and a fully-staged opera.

The main Academy campus is located on the shore of the Cryllic Ocean, near New Aberdeen on Aldebaran III.
