Alpha Centauri VII

Alpha Centauri VII, more commonly referred to as Al Rijil, is the seventh planet of twelve that orbit a set of binary stars in the Alpha Centauri System. It is a Class M world with extensive forests that are home to some of the tallest trees in existence. Al Rijil is the site of the original "colony" of Humans that were transported by the Preservers in the 3rd Century B.C. The remains of the small village those colonists left is now a Federation Heritage Protected Location. Although it ultimately failed, the second wave of settlers succeded beyond expectations. They began arriving from Earth and the Martian colonies in the mid-21st Century, just months after the settlement of Centaurus.
Alpha Centauri VII is home to the mega-conglomerate shipping empire Interstellar Import-Export (headquartered in the city of Flaxis) and has one of the largest civilian shipyards in it's orbit, Centauri Spaceworks. The University of Alpha Centauri is also here, considered one of the premier schools of higher education in the Federation.
Starfleet Intelligence maintains a training center on the planet's largest island Taran, as well as an operations support base.
