Alpha Centauri colony

The Alpha Centauri colony was one of the first outposts of humanity outside the Sol system along with the Terra Nova colony and the Vega colony. It is located in the Alpha Centauri system on Centaurus (Alpha Centauri IV).
In the early 22nd century, Zefram Cochrane moved to the colony. In 2117, he secretly left the system for an unknown destination. He was presumed dead in space, but had actually returned to Earth to build the Warp Five Complex.
In the event Earth were to fall to invasion or other catastrophe, Alpha Centauri colony is designated as alternate capital of the Federation.
Alpha Centauri colony is the birthplace of USS McKinley Chief Engineer Lieutenant Steve Wyman.
