Arcadia is a wet Class M world and home to the Arcadians. It is the fifth planet of the Vellum Gamma System. Arcadia is a temperate world whose thin atmosphere contains slightly more oxygen than Earth's. The planet is primarily made up of water with islands dotting the surface and two small continents lying near the southern pole. Land masses account only for 20 percent of the planet's surface. Several artificial islands have been constructed that can be moved about as the seasons change.

Arcadia joined the Federation officially in 2286, after several years as an associate member.
