Bynaus

The fourth planet of a system once orbiting a trinary star group, Bynaus (known as 101100010100110 to the Bynars) revolves around the binary Beta Magellan A and C. Beta Magellan B went nova quite recently, but the nova's sphere of destruction only extended as far as the second planet's orbital path. The two inner planets, lifeless and barren of atmosphere, were vaporized. The entire planet's population lives under protected domes.
When Beta Magellan B threatened to explode, the people of Bynaus knew that the resulting electromagnetic pulse would erase the entire memory of their planetary computer. To avoid this disaster, which would result in the deaths of all Bynars, they downloaded the accumulated knowledge of their world into the computer banks of the Galaxy class starship U.S.S. Enterprise-D, which they had commandeered. Once the nova detonated and the pulse had died down, the Enterprise relayed the information to the Bynar memory system, returning it to normal.
The Beta Magellan system is located close to the Tarsus system.
