Combat Tricorder

This newly designed tricorder is for use in the field when on tactical operations, as its name suggests. By default it scans for lifeforms within 200 metres, displaying them on the viewscreen using the grid-set display when detected.

Other modes include standard scanning, to scan for minerals, substances, etc. as you would with a normal Tricorder, however due to its specific design (for use in combat its effectiveness as a scientific instrument is somewhat limited.

A Field Medic variant is available, offering the same enemy-tracking system as the combat variant coming with a separate scanning device that can track down most known problems that occur in combat. This device is not as sophisticated as the standard Medical Tricorder, however it fills its combat role adequately.
