Delta Vega

Delta Vega was a desolate, uninhabited Class G planet, slightly smaller than Earth, located near the Galactic barrier. It was known for its rich source of crystals and minerals. During the mid-23rd century, it served as the site of the Delta Vega Station – an automated lithium cracking station which was, at most, visited by ore ships every twenty years. The station was owned by the Galactic Mining Corporation. A valley on the planet's surface was the actual location of the lithium facility. Delta Vega's terrain was generally very rocky and the planet's weather was known to include winds. While the atmosphere has indications of supporting life one day, the amount of carbon dioxide and high surface temperature makes it too perilous for most species at the present.

The USS Enterprise came to Delta Vega after suffering damage to the warp engines upon crossing the Galactic barrier in 2265. (TOS: "Where No Man Has Gone Before")
