Deridous IV

Deridous IV is a Class M world located in Federation space, near the Klingon Empire and Romulan Neutral Zone. It is the location of a Federation colony and a small Starfleet base.

The planet is almost entirely covered by jungle, with numerous large lakes and rivers dotting the surface. It also boasts a remarkable level of indiginous flora and fauna.

It was not known until 2378 that the planet was also home to a family of Zarnac refugees - the Forty-ninth House. The revelation of their presence by Federation News Service correspondant Charlie Gibson was a contributing factor in the Zarnac Empire launching an invasion of the planet in 2380 (See Battle of Deridous IV).
