Diplomatic Duty Uniform

The Diplomatic Officer of each vessel/base must be familiar with a variety of areas: history, politics, economics, military, and understand how they affect potential threats. A wide range of operations can occur in response to these areas and threats. These operations occur within three general states of being: peacetime competition, conflict, and war.

He or she must be equally flexible and demonstrate initiative, agility, depth, synchronization, and improvisation to provide the Commanding Officer and Executive Officer with responsive legal services, legal documents, researching diplomatic archives, diplomatic advise on the current status of an alien species both aligned and non-aligned to the Federation, attending and aiding in the preparation for official diplomatic functions prescribed by protocol, and perform other administrative duties and tasks as directed by the Chief Diplomatic Officer and/or Assistant Chief Diplomatic Officer.

Above all else the Diplomatic Officer must remember to uphold General Order 1 - The Prime Directive. The Prime Directive is the fundamental pinnacle of Federation ideals. Interference within the natural delvopment of a culture is not only dangerous to that culture, but also equally dangerous to the Federation. Observing the Prime Directive, as well safe guarding a culture from outside intervention is the Diplomatic Officer highest responsibility.
