Federation Supreme Court

The Supreme Court of the United Federation of Planets (or, simply, Federation Supreme Court) is the highest court in the Federation and the primary judicial organ of the UFP. It is based in the Peace Palace in The Hague, former nation state of the Netherlands on earth.

Established in 2162 by the UFP Charter, the Court began work in 2165. The Statute of the Supreme Court of Justice, is the main constitutional document constituting and regulating the Court.

The Court's workload is characterised by a wide range of judicial activity. Its main functions are to settle legal disputes submitted to it by federation members and to give advisory opinions on legal questions submitted to it by duly authorized interstellar organs and agencies. The number of decisions made by the Federation Supreme Court has been extensive over the years.
