Isolinear rod

An Isolinear Rod is a small orange translucent cylindrical data storage and processing device that are employed by the Cardassian Union aboard their vessels and other facilities. They are also used aboard the Bajoran, formerly Cardassian, facility Deep Space Nine. The rods are similar in principle to the Starfleet-issued isolinear chip used aboard Federation starships.
