The Kazarites bear some resemblance to an African tribe called the Masai (skin color and dress). They have a close relationship with animals and can communicate telepathically with them. Most have adopted a Buddhistic-like life. Kazarites can teleport themselves abiet very short distances, several meters at most, to a location they can actually see; they’re near-sighted. Kazarites can adjust their electrochemistry through meditating for 30 seconds or more, allowing use their unique abilities. Their sophisticated technologies are advanced crops e.g.: knives made of “ironwood” and grass mats which soak up dust in their homes. In Starfleet, they work best in the Science department as biologists and ecologists.

The Kazarite Homeworld is temperate with forests, plantations and large grass areas. There are predators on the planet, but they live in a kind of semi symbiosis with the Kazarites (the weakest/oldest herd animal is sacrificed to the predators. Mind you, Kazarites can communicate with animals, not control them). Since they have a close relationship with animals they would consider eating meat as akin to cannibalism. And they hate animal cruelty. They are nice beings, pacifists to be more precise.

Kazarites have a “Welsh accent”, unmanageable hair, gets static shocks if walking on carpet, and insatiable desire to scream at music. A Kazarite is a herder and able to communicate with animals, but he has less success communicating with other humanoids so he’s socially inept. Also because of his closeness with nature he needs to have plants around him while he sleeps—he feels uncomfortable or even disgust to sleep in a sterile area.

They closely resemble Terran primates in their appearance. They have hair over most of their bodies, save the face, hands, and feet. Their fingers are bony and possess sharp, claw-like nails. Kazarites have enlarges foreheads and flat noses, with large mouths that allows appear to be frowning. It is almost impossible to differentiate the male and female of the species at a glance.
