Lunaport

Lunaport is the primary spaceport for the colonies located on the Moon. It is the Federation's fifth largest city and is extensively populated with citizens from across the UFP.

This underground city is unsurpassed for recreational facilities, transportation systems, and lodging. The UFP Aerospace Museum-Smithsonian Annex is located on the lunar surface, in the Sea of Tranquility. The site of the first manned lunar landing is preserved within its walls, maintained in zero-atmosphere for the protection of the centuries-old footprints and equipment. Also on display here is the Terran space shuttle Joshua, the craft that performed the first rescue of personnel marooned in trans-lunar space, and U.N.S.S. Icarus, the first vessel to find Alpha Centauri and transport the original group of Centaurans. One recent acquisition is the transporter room of the U.S.S. Moscow, the site of the very first transporting of a human being on record.

During the mid-22nd century, Starfleet operated an extra vehicular simulator at Lunaport. It was popularly known as 'The Vomitorium' in Starfleet circles.
