P Type disrupter

Named for P’Mohk, a Romulan general credited with its development, the P Type disruptor is one of the most powerful weapons currently in use by the Romulan Star Empire. Comparable to the Federation’s Type XII array in terms of sheer firepower, it has greater range but suffers due to the inability to link it in an array. Recent advances in technology have allowed the Romulans to decrease the overall size of the P Type emitter, thereby allowing it to be deployed on vessels that were previously only capable of acting as platforms for the V Type disruptor, the first known disruptor type found as the standard complement on D’Deridex Class warbirds. It is believed that the P Type can be found arming vessels of the Norexan class and those ships of the D’Deridex Class that have been recently constructed or refitted. The P-Type has also been miniaturized and mounted on the Scorpion fighter, which offers it significant firepower in a small package, the variant being designated the P2-Type.
