The Senior Security Investigations Officer is an Officer. S/He is in Command of a Team of Investigators from the Security Investigation Division and have all the rights and responsibilities of a Department Chief.
S/He coordinates the investigations of their team using all the resources under their command. They report either directly to the Chief of Security or directly to the ship/facilities Commanding Officer.
