The Taurean System comprises two planets orbiting around a K5IV star called Taurus. Until the 23rd Century, the system had been seldom travelled and relatively uncharted.
In 2269, the USS Enterprise was ordered to investigate the disappearances of Federation and Klingon ships in the area, which only occurred every 27 years. They discovered the systems second planet, Taurus II was inhabited by only women.
