Theta VII

Theta Gamma VII, more commonly known as Theta VII, is a planet located in the Beta Quadrant, the seventh planet in orbit of the Theta Gamma star system.

In the early 23rd century, Theta VII became home to a Federation colony (the 500th colony as a matter-of-fact), a noted center of agriculture and mining. The greatest threat to the planet came in the year 2268, when an outbreak of the Gorn Rotavirus-E caused a medical emergency to be declared. With vaccines desperately needed, the starship USS Yorktown transported much needed medicines and transferred them to the USS Enterprise for final delivery to Theta VII. (TOS: "Obsession") The population of the planet at that time was 300,000.

During the Romulan crisis following the destruction of Romulus in 2387, Theta VII was designated a civilian collection point for those seeking refuge in Federation space.
