Transwarp

This is an experimental form of faster than light propulsion that remains beyond Starfleet's ability to produce. If successful, it would allow starships to travel at speeds exceeding the warp 10 threshold without the requisite for infinite energy sources to power the drive. Some races, such as the Borg and Voth, have achieved transwarp capabilities in one form or another, be it direct craft propulsion similar to normal faster than light propulsion systems, short-range but governable transwarp conduits or long-range and fantastically fast transwarp conduit networks.
