Trelka V

Located in the Trelka system of the Sector 21505, Trelka V is a barren Class M world belonging to the Cardassian Union. For many years, the Cardassian military has used this planet as a training base and weapons testing facility. As early as 2338, there have been barracks here. Its proximity to the Demilitarized Zone makes it a strategically important locale.

In 2373, following the Cardassian alliance with the Dominion, the base was expanded and modernized in hopes of using it as a jumping-off point for operations against the Federation Alliance-held areas of the system. Over ten thousand troops were stationed there during the war. An orbital drydock was added as well. Trelka V became a target of Klingon General Martok's raiders in 2375. The inital attack drew the Cardassian support vessels away, allowing the main body to slip in and heavily damage the base. (DS9: "Once More Into the Breach")

The Jem'Hadar practically wiped out the base and orbital facilities after Cardassia switched sides in late 2375. There has been attempts to restore a military prescence there since the conclusion of the war, but limited resources have made the process very slow.
