Returning Home (Meeting the Commanding Officer)

Mission: Misson 1 - Rebirth
Location: Captains Ready room.
Timeline: January 25th 2395

ON:

======Turbolift======
The ship was looking good, the engineers of the ship and the station had worked well. it looks sparkly and new. Anthony was looking forward to heading back to science section to start looking it over. This had to happen first thing after he got his quarters assignment.


=======Bridge=======
He stepped out onto the bridge and turned left. He ran his hand over the smooth console the science area before he walked down the ramp and turned left again and rang the chime on the ready room and waited for the Commanding officer to answer. He expected a purring voice as the Captain when he left had been a Catian.

Sat in her chair Taliserra was having a second look at the Padds Miranda had given her a few days before. "Come in." She called out.

Anthony was almost taken aback, that hadn't been the voice he was expecting to hear. He entered, "Good Morning Commander Tigran. Just letting you know I was back on deck after my trip to the Aurillac system. That was fun everything I hoped it would be. "He said as he came in and waited to be invited to sit."

"Good morning Lieutenant." Taliserra said looking up at Anthony. "Please sit down, not the person you expectd to see in this chair hmm?"

"Astute, but then again I don't suppose you get to the top of any department without being so. Well I was expecting the Captain to still be in charge when I returned. Though I guess everyone moves on sometimes." Anthony said as he sat before he said "I guess congratulations are in order then Commander Tigran."

"Thank you, I did not expect to be given command at all, I even had the task force commander give it me and this promotion in person. That was certainly a surprise."

“A pleasant one I presume.” Anthony said. “You are very capable of starship command Ma’am or the powers that be would never have promoted you to it ma’am they would have just given it someone who had their ship decommissioned. Oh yes I am returning to duty obviously as soon as my medical clearance is complete.”

"Thank you for your vote of confidence." Taliserra said smiling. "Lt Polaris should be back onboard soon as well, you can wait till then or if you want to get back into things right away I'm sure Lt Kore will clear you for duty."

“There is nothing that needs to be rushed. I was just going to relax and dick around in the science labs. That means I am going spend time putting that new language in the computer and trying to work out more of it for the team on Aurillac three. They were a great team. So that said I guess I am saying that I am open to waiting on doctor Polaris.” Anthony said.

"Sounds like you had an interesting bout of shoreleave." Standing up Tali walked to the replicator. "Would you like anything?"

"Almost as interesting as yours from a certain point of view Commander. Well seeing as I have really only just woken up I think a coffee might come in nicely ma'am. The one problem with planetary systems sometimes you never know if it morning or sleep time." Anthony said with a smile.

"You've only just woken up, I haven't been to sleep yet, too much on my mind to sleep." She order coffee for Anthony and a tea for herself and returned to the desk.

“Yeah USS Grissom just arrived about two hours ago I wanted to be home as soon as they said The Wolff was semi operational I knew I needed to be home.” Anthony said.

"Well, I am glad to see you home, at least I now have one senior officer I know back onboard." She tapped the piled of Padds beside her. "I'm still reviewing a bunch of applications for crew."

"Hopefully there aren't too many for Science vacancies the team I had were quite good at their jobs." Anthony said with a smile.

"You're lucky, most of your team is still here, a lot of the crew were reassigned while we were dry docked." Tali sipped her tea. "Not all the departments were so lucky."

"Good I hate breaking in new people. So tiresome when the crew is strong already."Anthony said.

"I agree, now we aren't scheduled to leave dock for another 10 days so you will have plenty of time to get settled back in and familiarize yourself with the refitted systems."

"Yes I am sure I will be ready for our shakedown Ma'am! No go having a passenger for a science officer unless that is what he is supposed to be." Anthony said. “Oh yes while I remember Commander, Aurillac 3 has Dilithium caves! Except the group mining the crystals are the Remans on the planet, though there is evidence of trade with the other races and the Bolians are there and are post Federation so the teams discovery may be a mute point.”

"It certainly sounds like an interesting place." Taliserra tried to stifle a yawn, her lack of sleep was finally catching up, the copious amounts of tea weren't helping. "Now I think I am going to go to my quarters for a while before my yeoman bursts into her with a sedative hypo."

"Only because your Doctor hasn't returned yet. Ensign Fry is good at her job and her job is to keep you from being tied in knots. Jumping through hoops is an expectation of your seniors Ma'am your juniors like their commanding officer to be in control. As for the yawns coffee is better for stifling those as is sleep." He smiled knowingly that like most commanders Taliserra was likely burning the candle at both ends and in the middle if she could find a way to do it.

Finishing the last of her tea Taliserra stood up. "Come Lt walk with me." She waited till Anthony stood up then together they left the ready room.
