Mission: Misson 1 - Rebirth
Location: Cargo ship Apollo
Timeline: 7th feb 2395

ON:

Navore beamed over to the Engineering section with his Damage Control Specialists; the fact that the ship was still pretty much intact; the integrity fields were still erected and holding; the main lighting was down past 25 candle power which is about 75 percent of normal, a little dimmer than he would have liked. Of course, the only reason it was that bright was due to the sheer number of red warning lights flashing or steadily illuminating.

The crew of the Apollo were trying to contain the damage and what able bodied crew were moving from console to access panel with the Chief Engineer not giving the orders. Navore recognized the lack of the calming demeanor of the man giving orders.

Navore moved to the man who had to be in his mid twenties, the torn jacket and blacked parts of the uniform told the story. Navore went to the Main console where the Deputy Chief was trying to maintain order.

"Thought we might give you a bit of a hand?" Navore said to the officer. "Lieutenant Navore of the Wolf, I brought my best people and hoped to help get the Apollo's damage under more manageable conditions?" he suggested. "You know your people and I have a medical team following us in," he informed.

"Any help would be great," The officer added. "I am Henderson. You the chief over there?"

"Yeap," Navore replied. "You mind if I have a look at your control board?" Henderson stepped aside. "Looks like the warp drives are not much more than simmering at the moment, the warp core scrammed to keep from a detonation..." He started listing the problems. "We can get the coolant systems working that... and check the connections... that should get the core back in a bit..." He glanced to Henderson. "The emergency fields along the hull seem to be holding the breeches, have you got teams going through those sections to shore up the hull?"

"That is more up to OPS but..." Henderson pointed. "There are a few of the connection junctions in those sections and we lost power on several decks, but the backup life support and lighting seem to be working on the individual battery sections."

"Okay..." Navore was looking over the entire power grid. "The bypassed portions were where they hit you," he observed. "They were trying to take your ship with the minimal shots to get the job done." Navore ran his hand along the grids. "If we can get some manual by-passes up, rather than removing and replacing the damaged sections, we might get the main power back online sooner."

The First Engineer made his way over to the team, finally. The chaos starting to die down around them. He put a hand out toward Navore. "Heya, sorry about the mess. I'm Jonah Kolby, ship's First Engineer. I can't thank you all enough for helping us out today. As you can see I'm a little short staffed. There's only twenty-five people on this crew in total... so with quite a few of them injured I'm kinda overwhelmed."

"Glad to know we are welcome," Navore said and offered a human hand shake. "We come to help so you can get back online again." He nodded. "The Power Grid is a bit of a mess. If you don't mind someone from another ship giving a few suggestions on the order of repair I would be glad to help you out?"

Kolby nodded and grinned. "Please. I would really appreciate that. I think everything might be a bit of a mess at the moment. I've been running around trying to do a little of each thing that's broken and that doesn't seem to be getting me anywhere." He ran a hand through his hair, looking as overwhelmed as he confessed to feeling.

"Not a problem, we will look into the root of the problems, find out a common junction that would affect the various systems and then once those are dealt with I think the little problems might solve themselves."

Kolby nodded again. "What's the best way to go about that? I can split the rest of my people into teams to help out if you like?" he asked.

"I am noting where the ship took hits have been a focus." Navore thought. "What I think is to check the major junctions close to the initial damage for over-loads and stress damage. The ship 'flexes to a degree and that could be where we are getting the majority of the power losses. Blown circuits at major interconnections in subsystems cutting off the lines between damaged sections." He turned to the crew. "I want everyone to break into partners, an Apollo Tech with a Wolf Engineer." He smiled. "They know the ship best and we are just here to help while two heads at a problem are often better than single techs."

Navore highlighted the places the ship was hit by enemy fire. "Each team start here and trace lines to the nearest major junction that was not hit; that switchboard will likely be the source of bad connections. Start there, then follow any remaining deadlines to reconnect the power grid. Our goal is to get us off batteries and the Team I keep here will deal with the core and engineering section damage... any questions?"

The crew that was left had stopped their work to listen. Several of them stepped over and were nodding in agreement of his assessment. When he was done speaking they worked to split into teams and then started to split up the assignments. Kolby seemed relieved. He was relieved. He had felt like he was just running around in circles, getting nothing done. Now they had focus and purpose. "Thank you," he said to Lieutenant Navore. "We'll get it done!"

"Any questions I will be here," Navore told them. "You have your objectives, what say we make the Captains proud?"

The crew seemed behind him. There was a lot of agreeing and even some clapping. Regardless of whether or not they would get the repairs done quickly the Starfleet personnel had definitely improved morale aboard the Apollo.
