It's about time, it's about space, about nose drippings in the wrong place

So The generalization of the wave equation to a spacetime with
n space dimensions and m time dimensions is the ‘ultrahyperbolic’ equation (∂^2/∂x^2/1 +...+∂2∂x^2/n)φ(x,t) in which....SPLAT!!!
The surface of the PaDD caught the somewhat slimy residue from HG's nose.
She put the thing down and grabbed some tissues she had replicated.
"Didn't they solve the cold problem already?" she mused out loud.
She blew her nose for the upmteenth time and with a fresh set whipped the screen clean. "Sniffles, why did it have to be the sniffles." She groused about things with her runny nose.
That did it, she could not get anything done with her nose running like a leaky plasma conduit. So she got up and decided she would head to that dreaded place called sickbay. Another handful of tissue waded up and stuffed into each nostril would at least not have her leaving a trail down the corridors.
Sickbay the sign read and she walked in. "I donnnn feee well," the tissue muting her words like she was some half idiot.
Galatea had just finished with the young woman in the biobed. The dose she gave her would only be temporary but it would have to do. Every five minutes a new case popped up.
She turned at the his of the door. "Come in Ms. Wells." She lead her to a free bio bed. The room was starting to look like a plague hut. "What symptoms are you having?"
"Runny nose, itchy eyes and think I put a wrong notation in the latest equation." She replied moving toward the indicated bed. "Thought there was little chance of colds going around a ship in this day and age."
"There is." She muttered as she looked around the slowly filling sickbay. Galatea grabbed her Tricorder and scanned the woman making a grumbling sound that suspiciously sounded like 'not good'. Galatea picked up hypo. "This will help with the symptoms but it's temporary only. I will need you to stay here." She motioned for Hunter, the closest nurse, to join her.
"Ugh...*snife*...really?" There was another sniff. "It kind of does not have the full interface I could use for the computer. I was...." HG stopped turned away and then put her arm across her face before sneezing leaving a bit of nose drippings on the sleeve as well. "Never mind, multi time dimensional transformations can wait. Where you want me doc?"
Hunter took over from there. "Right this way we'll put you here in the green zone." Polaris had made a good call on putting the less severe cases in Green, the harder ones in Yellow, and the red zone was reserved for the worst of the worst, only one of which they had now but it could go up at any minute. "Let me know when your nose feels better it should kick in at the one minute mark if not I will administer one more dose."
Galatea helped hunter settle in Wells. "Ms. Wells while the shot is working I would like your permission to do a full work up on you." It was a way that she could also monitor to make sure Wells didn't need to go to the Yellow or Red Zone.
"Oh alright, sure," she answered then asked, "say if you do not mind, may I ask if in the past weeks you noticed anything unusual with the machinery, the computers that sort of thing?"
It was an odd topic but Galatea would bite. She needed to keep Wells active and keep her mind on something else, other then her not being well. "They've been good...excellent. No glitches."
"Betther thannn normal?" She asked with that sort of stuffed nose sound.
"Well...yeah. It's hard to explain but there is a program I use to input data and run scenarios. Normally it has a glitch that I've been able to get around creatively but the last time I used it...it seemed to compensate for the glitch on its own."
HG nodded but that was the wrong thing to do. She had to grab for a tissue.
"The machine," she said with the same stuffed nasal passage sound. She did not explain further but only asked, "And how long is this congestion expected?"
"At this point, Ms. Wells, I'm not sure." She hated to admit it. Just as she was about to speak again Hunter popped by.
"Doctor you are needed in the yellow section."
She excused herself and left. Hunter smiled at Wells. "Just stay back. Everything will be okay." He cocked his head to the side. "How do you feel about jewelry?"
"Jewelry? Never had much use for any of it why?" HG asked.
He held up a bracelet that was marked with a green band. "Cause I'm afraid that for the duration of your stay you'll be wearing one of these." He clipped it to her wrist.
"Green, well if it has a certain cultural connotation, then I am hoping that means I get phasered out of existence last or some hope that I might pull through."
Hunter leaned in, "It means that you're not as bad as yellow or red...at least for now." He didn't believe in telling half truths. With the way things were going nobody knew.
HG made another face. "As I suspected, phasered out of existence last. Alright well let us hope that you find something to cure what ever is going on." HG tapped a finger thinking. If she could just get a bit of material together and if the equations worked she might be able to access those hidden dimensions. Well she would wait for now until they changed her 'jewelry' to some other colour. "Well," she tried to sound cheerful, "guess work on some of my equations then."
He smiled a bit. "Can I get you something to help with that then?"
"Oh for now, a PaDD and a link to the main computer will suffice," HG replied absently already thinking about other things.
He smiled, "I'll make sure you've got what you need."
"Thank you," she replied and laid back. Hopefully before things got too bad the doctors would figure something out.
