Mission: To catch a thief
Location: Deck 1- Captains ready room
Timeline: 4th April 2395 1000hrs

"Captain's log Stardate 72316.11, we're soon to arrive back to starbase 54, our engineers have recommended we get a quick check over after the explosion just to be safe, there may be damage we haven't discovered due to the damage we took.

The events of the last thirty hours or so have been most unusual, a trip for something that could have been a simple broken part, turning into searching for fleeing mercenary ships that have stolen federation technology.

I can't imagine what kind of people would willingly blow themselves up along with their ships and a major portion of an asteroid field. This Tikhar Mahan intelligence mentioned must be paying these ‘Dead skull privateers’ a lot of money if they are willing to commit suicide to deny us information about them and whatever he is planning. They have some technology at their disposal, one of their ships has a cloaking device and it wasn't at the asteroid so it is a fair guess that ship was carrying the sensor device they stole and has escaped to safety

I have updated Fleet Command and Intelligence about the incident but with no sign of the last ship we have no more leads to pursue.”
