ON:

Sitting back in her chair, Taliserra let out a relieved sigh, a new assignment had arrived and for once it was her long hoped for 'something simple'.

She tapped her combadge. =/\= Tigran to Radak.=/\=

Radak was in his office, working on quarterly crew evaluations. He tapped his combadge in reply. =/\=Yes, Captain?=/\= He stopped what he was doing and waited.

=/\= Will you come to the ready room?=/\=

=/\=Right away, Captain.=/\= He stood from his desk and made his way towards the Captain’s Ready Room. He was hoping that it was something other that the crew evaluations. When he arrived, he tapped the chime and waited.

"Come on in, Commander," Taliserra called out.

Radak tapped the panel to open the door and stepped into the captain’s office. “Captain,” he said with a small nod. “Is this a meeting that will require me to sit?” He looked between Taliserra and the chair in front of her desk.

"Up to you." Taliserra smiled, the meeting probably wouldn't be a long one. "We have our next assignment."

Radak took a seat and crossed his legs, putting his PaDD on his knee. He seemed almost excited, but his face stayed passive. “Will it be easy or difficult?”

"Hopefully it should be easy," Taliserra replied. "Though you know with the trouble we've found ourselves in recently it probably will end up difficult."

Radak nodded. “Yes, Sir. I agree. It seems to be our luck.”

"Hopefully this assignment will be different." Taliserra turned her computer screen to face Radak, their destination on a star chart was displayed. "A nice simple survey, near the Arbazan system. Far enough away from any of the borders and hopefully far away from any drama."

He leaned forward to look closer to the charts. “Class-M... I’m not sure I’m familiar with any thing else. Is there an indigenous species?” he asked. “I will have to research.”

Taliserra nodded slightly. "They are a federation member species, but there is not much about them in the database."

Radak set his PaDD from his lap and started tapping at it with one hand. “Mmm... I will dig for more. What are we going to survey? I assume we will need away teams?” he asked, interested. “It will take some time to arrive. If we take our time.”

"Approximately two weeks at a nice cruising speed," Taliserra replied. "We can take as long as we need for the survey, unless something comes up, Starfleet has nothing for us to really do."

“Mmm,” Radak added. “Maybe we should use this time to give the crew a break? We can change rotations to give them extra personal time. Not off the ship of course, but I am certain everyone has an extra proverbial book to read.”

"That is a good idea, two weeks is quite the time to kill," Taliserra said, not that she'd have much chance to relax even if she wanted to, there was always more paperwork for a ship’s captain.

Radak nodded. “Then I will set the schedules. I also have this quarterly crew evaluations finished. I will have them to you by the morning.”

'And yet more paperwork,' Taliserra thought. "Let’s make arrangements to depart for 1800hrs tomorrow.”

Radak nodded. “Excellent, Captain. Is there anything else?”

Taliserra shook her head. "For now, nothing else."

Radak nodded and stood. “Thank you, Captain. I will try and catch up.” He waited to be dismissed and then headed for the door.

OFF:

Captain Taliserra Tigran
Commanding Officer

Lieutenant Commander Radak
